Privacy Policy

The Cambridge Hood Cleaning Privacy Policy is the record of what this website learns about you, who receives it, how long it stays on file and how you take it back. It follows the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the federal privacy law for a Canadian business handling personal information in the course of trade. Two quote forms, one on the homepage and one on the contact page, are the only places on the site that ask for anything. Reading every other page tells nobody who you are. Last updated: September 2026.

What the two quote forms collect

Fields you fill in. Name, phone number, email address, business name and a message. Each one has a job: the business name attaches the enquiry to a kitchen, the phone number and email give the crew a way to send the written quote back, and the message says what the kitchen needs.

Fields the page fills in for you. The address and title of the page the form was sent from, a label naming which of the two forms was used, and a timestamp taken when the page loaded. The timestamp lets the relay drop a submission that arrives faster than a person can type. None of these three fields say anything about you as a person.

A field you cannot see. The form carries one hidden field that a visitor never sees or fills. Automated scripts fill it anyway, and a submission with that field completed is discarded before it goes anywhere.

Never requested. Payment card numbers, banking details, government identification numbers and health information have no place on the form, and no one from the business will ask for them by email.

Where a submission goes

The relay. The form posts to a serverless function hosted by Netlify under this domain. The function checks the hidden field and the timestamp, refuses posts that did not originate on this site, and passes a clean submission on. It stores nothing of its own.

The CRM. The clean submission lands in the GoHighLevel customer relationship management system used by Cambridge Hood Cleaning and its operating partner. There it becomes a contact record and alerts the person who prepares quotes. That person may phone, text or email you to return the quote and to book a visit, and for no other reason.

No sale of data. Contact records are not sold, rented, traded, added to a third-party marketing list or handed to an advertising network.

Servers outside Canada. Netlify, the content delivery network that mirrors the site, and GoHighLevel may hold data on servers outside Canada. PIPEDA permits that where the information stays protected by contract, and it does.

Retention, access, correction and deletion

The lower edge of a canopy being wiped beside the hood light. Photographs taken during a visit become part of the record kept for that kitchen.

Retention. An enquiry that never turns into a booked visit is kept long enough to answer it and to recognise the same kitchen if it calls again. Records from a completed visit, the signed certificate and the before-and-after photographs, are safety documents that a kitchen may need to reissue for a fire service, a public health unit or an insurer, so they stay on file together with the contact details needed to reissue them.

Access. PIPEDA gives you the right to see the personal information an organisation holds about you. Call 226-917-4064 or send a note through the contact form and a copy comes back within the period PIPEDA sets.

Correction. A wrong phone number, a changed email address or a misspelled business name is corrected on request, the same way.

Deletion. Contact details are deleted on request. The certificate and photographs from completed work are retained as safety records, and that exception is explained when the request is made.

Complaints. Raise a concern by phone first. Anyone in Canada may also take a complaint to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

The Google tag, the chat widget, hosting and cookies

The Google tag. Every page loads a Google tag (GT-M348W7FR) that feeds Google Analytics. It measures traffic in aggregate: how many visits, which pages, from which kind of device. Google may set cookies to do that, and Google handles that data under its own policy. Cambridge Hood Cleaning sees totals, not individuals.

The live chat widget. An optional chat widget provided by GoHighLevel loads only after you interact with the page. Until then no chat code runs. Once loaded it may store a small identifier in your browser to keep one conversation together as you move between pages here, and anything typed into it reaches the same CRM as the form.

Hosting. The site is served by Netlify with a content delivery network mirror. Both keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested, time) for security and reliability. Those logs are not used to profile visitors.

Cookies set by this site. None of its own. The only cookies that may appear come from the Google tag and, after you open it, the chat widget.

Children. The site is written for people who run commercial kitchens and is not directed at anyone under 18.

Other websites. A link that leaves this domain leaves this policy. The destination site sets its own rules.

Changes. When the way information is handled changes, this page changes with it and the date in the opening paragraph moves. The terms of service cover the conditions a visit runs under. The about page names the operating partner.

Privacy: frequently asked questions

Why does the form record the page it was sent from?

The page address and title tell Cambridge Hood Cleaning which page produced the enquiry, and the form label says whether it was the homepage form or the contact page form. That is the only page-level attribution the site keeps, and it contains nothing about you.

Who can read what is typed into the quote form?

The person who prepares the quote and the crew that books the visit. Netlify runs the relay and GoHighLevel hosts the CRM, both as service providers under contract. No other organisation receives the record.

Does the Google tag identify individual visitors?

The Google tag (GT-M348W7FR) reports traffic to Google Analytics in aggregate. Cambridge Hood Cleaning sees page counts, device types and visit totals, not names or contact details. A browser set to block analytics cookies still loads every page normally.

Does the chat widget load before I click it?

No. The GoHighLevel chat widget is loaded only after you interact with the page, so a visitor who reads and leaves never runs its code. Once open, it holds one conversation together across pages on this domain and nowhere else.

How do I ask for my details to be deleted?

Call 226-917-4064 or send the request through the contact form. Contact details are removed. The certificate and photographs from a completed visit are safety records and stay on file, and that is explained at the time.

Questions about a record on file

The same line that returns quotes handles requests to see, correct or delete your details. Call, or send a note through the contact page.
